Final Project

I have changed since I have been in the U.S. I had taken English class, because I have to understand the Idiom. I have four children and I have to help them with their homework and everything was in English. I changed because here is other culture than my country; and here I have more opportunities in everything, for example in U.S. I have my own house, a car. Also I have the opportunity to go to school. I want to be an example for my kids, I hope they follow me with my examples they want to continue with the school.

I have become aware of since taking this class, because now I know about the differences between Pop Culture and High Culture, and why some song or singer are the most popular, or the most interesting movie, since started take this class I know more about why my kids like the movies, what kind the music they like. And why they like the most popular cloths.

TV Show

1. A popular TV show I watch is "Dancing With the Start" I like the show because I like to see professional dancers, but sometimes they do not professional, they make mistakes when they are dancing, I like it because I like dance and the music. I think that is hard for the start because they need to practice a lot to be the best dancers in the competition. sometimes they won the first place or second or they lost the place to stay in competition time I watch the show.

Technology

I cannot live without money, because if I do not have money I cannot buy food, or pay for the house, utilities, the things I need to survive in this planet. Technology is very important part of my life, because now everything I need to do in computer, for example to apply for a job, to find a direction to travel an other part of the world. Or pay bills on line. For everything I need use computer in school too.

The Tourist Movie

Do you like to be an actor or actress for a movie, some people like to be famous and popular.The ending you will never forget.Movie is about the main character Elise, played by Angelina Jolie. The police force her to help them capture her ex lover. While she is there she receives a letter from her ex lover Alexander to pick out someone and say it is him. She meets a man, Frank, played by Johnny Depp, on the train from Paris to Venice. She seduces him and she spends the night with him. In the morning he sees that she is gone. The Italian police break in and he runs away, but they catch him later on. Once he gets out, Elise rescues him and lets him know that the mob think he is a dangerous criminal and she kissed him. They fall in love and the twist is that Frank and Alexander Pearce is the same person.

Interesting scene is when Johnny Depp runs away from the Italian police and he’s running on the roof very skillfully. The song in The Tourist is good because the violence and a bad way to get money. It is not appropriate for kids because it contains adult themes. I like the movie because it has action and suspense. Although it was not interesting in the beginning it starts to get interesting when they try to catch Johnny Depp. The ending you will never forget. How advertisements sell movies on TV. When you see Trailers about the movies it show the most interesting parts of the movie. For example trailers show the main actors, also show a short scene that will happen in the movie. So you never see the end movie. But only one thing y do not like. Is when the movie starts. Because the first scene like it is in the middle of the movie. The Tourist was filmed in Venice Italy.

Music

I have many favorites songs, from Nail Diamond, but I have one in special the song is Shilo, because that song has a story when he was a child. My favorite type of music is romantic and the song has a good message, I do not like when the song has a negative message or bad words, because maybe the kids want to sing in the same way.

Reading

I picked They're Got to Be Carefully Taught, because I think if somebody chose to be a teacher specially to teach early education, thats they have to have patience and be very careful how teachers explain the subject, for example why kids came from different cultures. Also gave simple examples to kids understand they are different.

Cultural Identity

I chose those pictures because is my culture. For example we celebrated The Day of the Dead in November 2nd. We remembered ours dead family and friends. I chose one of the most popular singer his named is Vicente Fernandez, his most famous song is "Hermoso Carino". And the Mexican Flag.
